You have 2 days to discover the desert and the mountains at the same time. Marrakech will be the starting point towards Zagora, passing by Tis’n Tichka, Tizi N’Tinifift, kasbahs and the Draa Valley.
After breakfast and at the agreed time, we will leave in the direction of Ouarzazate, passing through Tiz’n’Tichka (or Tichka port), the highest road in Morocco at over 2260 meters above sea level. During the tour we will enjoy the incredible scenery: during the ascent the green colours predominate, which will be replaced by the almost lunar landscape of the Anti-Atlas, with the desert in the background.
At the end of the descent we will leave Ouarzazate and head towards the city of Agdz, crossing the port of Tizi N’Tinifift (1660 meters), a succession of steep mountains of black and grey rocks of unusual beauty from which we can contemplate an incomparable panoramic view of the Draa Valley.
Little by little we will go to the majestic palm grove of the Draa Valley, the largest palm grove in Africa with more than 150 kilometers long, dotted with kasbahs, villages and orchards. We will leave the road to take a track that will make us discover the heart of the palm grove and after the visit we will finally arrive in Zagora, the arrival point of the caravans of the mythical Timbuktu.
From there, and before sunset, we will go to the point where the camp of the Berber jaimas is located where we will spend the night.
It’s worth waking up early and enjoying the sunrise. After breakfast we will drive back to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.
The Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is a spectacular clay and stone village with buildings surrounded by high walls, an aspect that makes it one of the most beautiful places in Morocco and a must for all tourists who plan to visit the country of North Africa. We continue our road to Marrakech and we will have lunch on the way.
