Get ready to discover the Sahara and the Berber villages through this 4 day tour, starting from Marrakech towards Fez.
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
The departure will be from Marrakech at 8:00 am, you climb into an air-conditioned 4×4 and then cross the Atlas Mountains and Berber villages. Then you will visit the 17th century kasbah in the town of Telouet on your way.
You will head towards Ouarzazate, where you will visit both (Ait ben Haddou kasbah and Taourirt kasbah, protected by UNESCO), one of the most impressive Kasbahs in the region. Then, you will leave for Skoura, a town overlooking several beautiful kasbahs, in particular the 18th century Ameridhil kasbah, and you will arrive in Kalaat Mgouna to visit the magnificent Pink Valley.
On the way through the Dades Gorge, you will appreciate the Berber villages, the unique rock formation and the incredible canyons of the parents. Dinner and overnight in a local riad.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorge – Kasbah Road -Merzouga
Today will be the epic day of this 4-day desert excursion. After breakfast at the riad, you will head to the Todgha gorges, where you will have free time to enjoy a panoramic view of the Berber villages overlooking the valley. Then, your journey continues to Merzouga, passing through tinjdad, Erfoud and er-rissani, while enjoying the great landscapes of the Sahara oasis.
After a glass of mint tea, you will have time to recharge your batteries and feel the serene desert at the Riad, you can stroll through the village of Merzouga. At the end of the day, you will admire one of the best sunsets in the world. Night at your riad.
Day 3 : Merzouga – Rissani – Souk
You will wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise and come back for breakfast in your riad.
You will visit the dunes through the oasis of MERZOUGA, up to the nomadic deposit, the village of KHAMLIA (a real African village), where you will visit the Gnawa, to discover their music and culture.
Not far from there, you will leave for Rissani -Sijilmassa, it is a historical city and the cradle of many kings in the history of Morocco, it was also the meeting point of the African caravans.
Here you will walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables and clothes. You will return to your camp in the Merzouga desert to meet residents and many other tourists from all over the world.
Day 4: Merzouga – Desert – Ziz Valley – Ifran – Fez
After breakfast in the village of Merzouga, you will admire the unique beauty of the spectacular sand dunes of Erg Chebbi . You will leave for the valley of ziz, first known for its fossils. Then, the Ziz gorges provide a rocky passage that leads to the Tafilalt oasis.
Passing through Errachidia, your journey continues along the edge of the cedar forest to – Azrou, a famous link with these cedar forests inhabited by endangered barbarian monkeys. The next stop is Ifran, an organized and modern city that looks more like Switzerland transferred to the Middle Atlas.
At the end of the afternoon, you will be taken to FEZ where your 4 days desert tour from Marrakech ends.
